Defense, Trailblazers shut down Lakewood 28-0 in playoff Opener
The defending Division 9 CIF Champion Sierra Canyon Trailblazers opened defense of their crown with a 28-0 victory over the Lakewood Lancers. The Trailblazers were moved up to Division 4 this year as part of the CIF’s Competitive Equity Initiative but showed no signs of being intimidated by the bigger stage. The defense caused two turnovers and the offense was lead by sophomore Johhny Hawkins who complete eight passes for 192 yards and two touchdowns. Hawkins and senior Dylan Tait hooked up for a 75 yard touchdown pass in the second quarter to take a 10-0 lead.
