Sierra Canyon does well in Phoenix, AZ.

The Sierra Canyon girls volleyball team has had a stellar season. The Trailblazers have not lost in California and have not lost a best-of-5 match all year.

The Trailblazers like to travel and test themselves against great competition in out-of-state tournaments.

Sierra Canyon started the year in Hawaii and played in Nevada.

The most recent trip was to Phoenix to play in the Nike tournament of champions and Sierra Canyon won its first three pool-play matches before losing in two sets to Sacred Heart Prep of Atherton.

A win there would have put the Trailblazers in the Platinum bracket. The loss dropped them to the Gold Bracket.

Sierra Canyon knocked off Notre Dame Prep and Beckman of Irvine before facing Mission league rival Marymount of Los Angeles in the final. That match never happened as the two teams already play twice in league.

Sierra Canyon knocked off Desert Vista (16 and 16), Vista Murrieta (15 and 17) and Casteel of Arizona (23-25, 20 and 7).

In the loss to Sacred Heart Prep, the Trailblazers were without top junior libero Lauren Lynch (committed to San Diego), who sat out with a minor injury.

Sierra Canyon comes back to California with a 29-5, 6-0 record with four matches in two weeks left before the Div. 1 playoffs.
