By Jacob H. Pollon

Former Sierra Canyon girls volleyball standout Zoe Fleck won a gold medal with the US National team Sunday after a four set victory against Dominican Republic (24-26, 25-18, 25-20, 25-21) to ein the 2023 NORCECA Pan-Am Cup.

Fleck, 22 years old, had 11 digs and 11 successful receptions.

The decorated college libero started her journey at UC Santa Barbara before transferring to UCLA.

With the Bruins, Fleck was the PAC-12 libero of the year in 2020 and 2021. She was a two-time PAC-12 defensive player of the week selection.

Fleck played her final year at Texas and helped the Longhorns to the 2022 NCAA championship.

The US National team went undefeated in the Dominican Republic taking down Canada, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Cuba in straight sets before going five with the Dominican Republic.

The team swept Mexico in the semifinals before handing the D.R. another defeat in the final, this time in four sets.

Fleck joins other Sierra Canyon standouts, such as Devearl Ramsey (basketball), JuJu Watkins (basketball), Mackenly Randolph (basketball) and Zoe Mitchell (soccer) to have all had US National team success on a world-wide stage.
