Sierra Canyon records fourth shut out in six games

The Sierra Canyon baseball team recorded its fourth shutout in six games Saturday after an easy 12-0 victory against down the street-rival Chatsworth.

Sierra Canyon head coach Tom Meusborn was the former coach at Chatsworth for over 20 years, leading the Chancellors to a national championship, several LA City section titles and helped players like Mike Moustakas reach the big leagues.

Left-hander Brayden Charness went three innings and struck out four while giving up just two hits and a walk.

Charness is coming back from a minor injury and being broug back along slowly for a deep playoff run.

UC-San Diego bound Julian Areliz had two hits, including a home run, four RBI’s and scored two runs.

Sierra Canyon finishes the regular season with five Mission League games in the final two weeks.

Three against Notre Dame and two against Loyola.
