Sierra Canyon hoping to compete in the Mission League

The Sierra Canyon boys soccer program is hoping to improve and make strides toward a playoff berth this year.
The Trailblazers compete in the rugged Mission League and have to deal with juggernauts Harvard-Westlake and Loyola.
Chaminade, St. Francis and Crespi aren’t too bad either.
“We are young and inexperienced,” Sierra Canyon coach Chris Bonawandt said. “But we are talented and have a plan.”
Bonawandt will look to Jaeden Pugh, Daron Agopian, Evan Kwok and freshman Marley del Cid.
Pugh is the team captain and controls the center of the field.
“Daron is a strong, attacking player for us,” Bonawandt said. “Marley is talented and mature for his age.”
The team is currently 2-3, 1-1 and has a huge showdown with Harvard-Westlake this week before a nice break until the new year.
“We have some pieces, we have a plan, we know what we want to do,” Bonawandt said. “We just need more experience to make things happen.”
