Girls Basketball: Sierra Canyon is 5-0 to start the year


Trailblazers have won five consecutive games

The Sierra Canyon girls basketball team had a successful trip to the Lone Star state.

The Trailblazers improved to 5-0 overall after two wins against South Grand Prairie and DeSoto in the Thanksgiving Holiday Hoopfest at Duncanville HS.

First up was a 56-34 victory against South Grand Prairie.

MacKenly Randolph scored 23 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and had three assists to lead Sierra Canyon.

Jerzy Robinson poured in 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds while Emilia Krstevski had 12 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Both are only sophomores.

In a 52-43 victory against DeSoto, again it was Randolph leading the way with 26 points and 10 rebounds.

Robinson had 15 points and eight rebounds, New Jersey-transfer Ashley Redd had eight points, three rebounds and three assists. Krstevski added 10 points and three blocks.

Coach Alicia Komaki takes her team to the Fresno-area for a game against Clovis West this Saturday before a trip to Hawaii to play in the Iolani Classic.
