The Sierra Canyon boys basketball team has won four consecutive games to start the new year.

In the past week, the Trailblazers knocked off Highland of Palmdale 97-41 and easily outlasted Clovis North near Fresno 79-39. Both games were running clock.

Justin Pippen scored 24 points and Majok Chuol added 20 points to lead Sierra Canyon over Highland. Cal St. Northridge-bound Noah WIlliams had 11 points, Jayden Alexander had 11 points and Bryce Cofield 10 to lead five players in double figures and nice, balanced attack for the Trailblazers.

The mid-week game was a tune-up for a trip to Fresno. Sierra Canyon played at the Save Mart Center (home to Fresno St.) and had no issues in an easy win. Williams scored 22 points and was named game MVP as the Trailblazers overwhelmed the Tar Heels.

Alexander had 19 points, including three 3-pointers, Cofield had 16 points and Pippen 11.

Sierra Canyon led 38-16 at halftime.

The Trailblazers return home for a nonleague game Wednesday at 7 p.m. against Moorpark and then will travel to Arizona for a game against Desert Mountain at Chaparral HS in the HoopHall West event.

The team is still awaiting the return of six key players.

Arkansas-commit Isaiah Elohim is injured, Ethan Johnson and Stephan Kankole will be available around Christmas. Michael Baba from San Gabriel Academy and Alemany could be cleared this week, Bryce James will be back Wednesday and Kamron Martin is back after a short stint at Cleveland HS.
