The Sierra Canyon girls golf program started its season in winning fashion after a 275-312 victory against Alemany of Mission Hills in a nonleague match played at Hansen Dam GC.

Katie Anderson was a medalist for the Trailblazers shooting a 43 over nine holes.

The team is being coached this year by longtime athletic director Rock Pillsbury.

Sierra Canyon is back on the course next week for two matches. The Trailblazers will take on Chaminade on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at the El Cariso GC in Sylmar.

Thursday, the Trailblazers will be at Balboa GC in Encino to face Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks.

Sierra Canyon (1-0) is tuning up for a 9-hole mid-season tourney in late September.
