There is no stopping the Sierra Canyon girls volleyball team right now. The Trailblazers completed its third perfect week of the young season after a Gold Coast League victory against Viewpoint and a nonleague road victory against West Ranch.

Sierra Canyon ran its Gold Coast League winning streak to 48 consecutive matches with an 11.17.15 sweep.

Long Beach St.-bound outside hitter Jaylen Jordan had 11 kills while sophomore Sidney Montgomery had nine kills and fantastic freshman Jaida Sione also had nine kills. Taylor Simpson, a rising junior prospect, had 28 assists. Simpson is one of the top setters in the area.

The sweep marked 118 consecutive sets won in league. Absolutely remarkable. The Trailblazers last league setback was Sept. 15, 2015 against Viewpoint. The last time Sierra Canyon has lost a set in a league match was back in October of 2015 against Crossroads.

The Trailblazers followed Tuesday up with a sweep against West Ranch on Thursday. Jordan had 14 kills and 14 digs.

Simpson had 10 kills and 25 assists. Olivia Babcock had six kills and Sione had five kills. Babcock is only a freshman.

The only loss suffered thus far was a two set defeat to nationally-ranked Torrey Pines in the California Challenge tournament at La Costa Canyon in Carlsbad.

The road gets tougher next week with a league contest at Brentwood and a Thursday home match against Crossroads.
