It was a very successful trip to Las Vegas for the Sierra Canyon baseball team. The team played in a Fall off-season tournament and hit the jackpot.

Solid pitching and timely hitting was the recipe for success for the Trailblazers. Sierra Canyon secured victory in four games it played behind pitchers Kassius Thomas, Bryce Bond, Jaden Noot and Luca Rubin.

In the first game, Thomas settled down with help from freshman Omar Cisneros, Luke Pillsbury and Rubin.

Game two featured a two-hit shutout thanks to sophomores Eddie Mgdesyan and Max Martin. The offense was powered by Thomas’ home run, double and four RBIs. Anthony Ciccerelli added a solo home run.

Veteran junior right-hander Bryce Bond threw four shutout innings to help lead the Trailblazers in a game three victory against national powerhouse O’Connor.

Oregon commit Jaden Noot (sophomore) anchored the trip with seven strikeouts in six shutout innings to win game four. Shane McClendon knocked in two runs to pace the offense.

Sierra Canyon continues its active off-season with a 10 a.m. game Saturday at home against Venice.
