The Sierra Canyon girls and boys cross country programs continue to make steady progress. The girls team made more school history Wednesday after another team victory in the second Gold Coast League meet of the year this time at Brentwood School in Los Angeles on a course of approximately three miles.

The girls scored 42 points, well ahead of second place finisher Paraclete. Freshman sensation Isis Diaz continues to dominate with another overall individual victory. Fellow freshmen Viktoria Balbin and Celia Vaughn placed sixth and ninth, respectively. Bobbie Golik and sophomore Emily Chong rounded out the scoring five for the Trailblazers.

The boys team continues to improve and was led by junior Aidan Jones’ fourth-place finish. The boys recorded a program record low 142 points easily hitting their goal of under 200 in a meet race.

The boys received strong running performances from seniors Charles and Christian Chitty and Jake Dalton, junior Blake Nicholes and freshman Mariano Del Castillo.

The next league meet is Wed., Oct., 3 at Paraclete in Lancaster. Go Trailblazers!
