Sierra Canyon girls tennis wins its first playoff match

The Sierra Canyon girls tennis team got off to a great start in its first playoff match.

The Trailblazers knocked off Katella of Anaheim 15-3 in a contest played at Cal St. Northridge.

Lyric Wilson and Betty Chen both swept their three sets. The awesome singles players each only lost two games.

Sierra Canyon, which won the Angelus League for the second consecutive year, received some very important points in doubles.

Sienna Martin and Hannah Almany swept three sets and Danica Quinn and Bridgette Mertzel won two sets.

The Trailblazers advance to Friday’s second round at 3 p.m. at Mark Keppel of Alhambra.
